Commemorative Sheets

Brought out from time to time to mark specific events, these A4 sheets usually carry 10 x 1st Class stamps with adjacent labels featuring pictorial images pertaining to the occasion.  These sheets do carry a premium charged by Royal Mail and are available as a mint item as well as on First Day Covers.  We also offer them as a complete sheet on a plain A4 envelope.

Certainly one of the most popular ones was to mark the 800th Anniversary of the University of Cambridge.  Others issued have featured Big Ben and  the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Olympic & Paralympic Games Commemorative Sheet: Issue Date: 27th July 2011

The Commemorative sheet features all ten Olympic and Paralympic Games stamps alongside labels containing information about each sport.

Designed by True North and written by Richard Rae, the sheet features interviews with 2008 bronze-medal winning Olympic gymnast Louise Smith and Britain’s number –one female wheelchair tennis player Lucy Shuker.

The stamps are presented on two Cotswold Covers, each bearing a different handstamp:

In addition, a very limited number of A4 sized envelopes carrying the sheet in full will be postmarked.
